I International festival and competition
The beginning of long-awaited summer on Ural will be marked by ambitious cultural event. I International festival and competition Ekaterinburg SaxFest will start on 4th of July in Ekaterinburg. The capital of Ural will turn into the saxophone capital of world for 5 days!
Igor Butman (Russia), Vincent David (France), Baptiste Herbin (France), Martin Trillaud (France), Federico Mondelci (Italy), Alexandr Oseichuk (Russia), Igor Parashchuk (Russia), Nikita Zimin (Russia), Taras Gusarov (Russia) – those are the best virtuosos of saxophone on the planet who will cross Rifei in order to give concerts, master-classes and to find new talented musicians.
Within Ekaterinburg SaxFest there will be:
– International competition for saxophonists;
– Master-classes of Vincent David and Federico Mondelci;
– Solo concert of Baptiste Herbin, jam session and 3 concerts which involve the world greatest academic and jazz saxophonists.
The competition has 3 nominations:
– academic saxophone;
– saxophone ensembles;
– jazz saxophone.
Artistic director of Selmer company – Florent Milhaud – is honorary guest of Festival. He will visit Russia for the first time. He will take to Ekaterinburg the main prize of Competition, saxophone of legendary French brand.
Ekaterinburg SaxFest is supported by the world’s leading musical brands. The events will take place at:
– State academy philharmonic hall of Sverdlovsk region;
– Sverdlovsk music college named after Tchaikovsky;
– EverJazz club.
The main organiser of Festival is Eurasian Association of saxophonists https://saxassociation.ru
The aim of Association is popularisation of saxophone, support to young saxophonists, giving concerts, creative gatherings and master-classes of the world greatest performers.
Ural is famous for it’s musical culture. This region has been global provider of talented and well educated saxophonists for many years. That is why Festival is supported by Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk region. Organisers of saxophone festival hope that Ekaterinburg SaxFest will become an yearly tradition and will beautify the city.
